Limerick Youth Theatre (LYT) provides a two-year training course in theatre and performing arts. As well as staging our own productions we collaborate with groups in Limerick city and county and organise outings to local venues. LYT has a very busy outreach programme which includes Transition Year Theatre (TYT) and The Creative Show, a collaboration with the Avista (Limerick).

How to apply

To join LYT you must submit an application form and meet the requirements:

be between 16 and 21 years old
be available for workshops on Saturdays in Limerick
be willing to devote time to rehearsals, productions, outings, festivals
participate in an audition

Previous experience is not necessary as enthusiasm and commitment will take you very far. There are only 25 places each year so we like to see how you work in a team. There’s no standing on the spot reciting Shakespeare; the audition is a workshop with group games, improvisation and plenty of room for your imagination. Thanks to the financial support from Limerick & Clare ETB, membership is just 200 euros per year.
