It’s that time of year where we welcome applications from anyone aged between 16 – 23 years who is interested in theatre and would like join LYT. Here’s how it works, you need to fill in an application form and then take part in an audition.
The form must be returned to Limerick Youth Theatre (LYT) before the auditions. You can either post your completed application form to 73 O’Connell Street Limerick or email to lytster@gmail.com. We will then call you for an audition. Auditions will take place on Saturday 30 September 2017 at The Basement, 73 O’Connell Street Limerick at 11.00am. During the audition you will take part in group games – you don’t have to prepare anything for us so don’t be nervous! There are 25 positions available on the programme, which will begin in October. To be eligible for membership you must be between 16 and 23 years old and be able to attend workshops and activities on Saturdays. Membership costs €200 per year. What is LYT?
Limerick Youth Theatre (LYT) is a company of young performers, dancers, writers, designers, directors, producers and film-makers, located in the city of Limerick. LYT holds weekly workshops with artists and directors from October to June, and presents a full-length production in August after 5 weeks intensive rehearsals. Besides the summer production, LYT produces films, radio, plays, participates in festivals, collaborates with artistic groups across Limerick, and places volunteers where possible.
